A Kaboodle Of Big Cats

I spent a few weeks over in Idaho in September with my friends and their critters. Two of the kitty girls are very large muscular cats: Natasha is a ragdoll look alike, and Olivia is a gray striped sweetheart.

Both weigh in at around 18 pounds. They are just big girls, but very cute and still just kittens at heart. Sidney, the female tortoiseshell calico is a petite 9 pounds, and we suspect that 5 of those pounds are hair! Believe it or not, Sidney is "head cat". She mothered the kittens when they came into the household because she was older and it was "her job".

Natasha is the 'baby' of the group and has a cute little kink in her tail. She hates to have her tail touched at all. She is the most vocal, with a typical yowl she cuts loose whenever she can't find the rest of the cats, or for any other particular reason known only to her.

Olivia protects her little sister Natasha (even though Natasha is perfectly able to do so) and gives a good swat and a loud hiss when Kooper the beagle boy in the household becomes a bit too close to her.

Their favorite things to do are sleeping in the sun, grooming themselves, eating, and playing with their favorite toys. I became one of their 'toys' because I get out the cat cording with a mouse tied at one end and they love to hunt it. One day, Natasha kept prowling around the house howling like something was upsetting her. Something was! She wanted to play with the string and the string toy (me) was in the dining room eating. Sheesh, humans are SO dense!
